The Wim Hof Method, created by Wim Hof, to help you to become Happy, Healthy and Strong
3 PILLARS OF THE WHM
Understand what the 3 pillars are and how they combine to make the body and mind more powerful.
The Wim Hof Method is built on three foundational pillars that, when combined, help to unlock the full potential of the body and mind. These pillars are designed to be integrated into your daily routine, enabling you to cultivate a stronger, healthier and more resilient self.
Breathing
Activate your full potential through the Wim Hof Method Breathwork
Through the Wim Hof Method breathing techniques, you can prime your body to go into the deepest part of your brain and learn how to balance your mood and emotions.
You change your very biochemistry by alkalising your blood and bringing in more oxygen, and you connect the autonomic nervous system with your consciousness.
BREATHING EXERCISES THE WIM HOF METHOD WAY
The Wim Hof Method breathing exercises consist of a series of conscious breathing techniques that are designed to help control the body’s autonomic nervous system. There are various different breathing exercises, ranging from the basic exercises that are taught in the Wim Hof Method fundamentals workshops to the more advanced exercises that are taught in the Advanced Wim Hof Method Workshops.
It’s important to note that the Wim Hof Method breathing technique should never be performed in or near water, as it can be dangerous.
During the breathing exercises, many breaths and rounds are taken, with different types of breath holds and muscle contractions involved. The Wim Hof Method breathwork is a powerful technique that must be practised safely, and the breath holds should never be forced.
Similar to cold exposure, breathing exercises are also a stressor that can help trigger a stress response. The growth comes from learning how to control the nervous system through controlled breathing and a strong focused mindset. The benefits of practising the Wim Hof Method breathing exercises include improved immune function, increased energy levels, reduced stress and anxiety, and improved mental clarity.
Wim Hof Method breathing exercises can help individuals achieve a greater sense of control over their body and mind, leading to increased resilience, happiness, and overall well-being.
Scientists were among the sceptics who did not believe the Wim Hof Method could influence the autonomic nervous system.
Extensive tests by university researchers proved the impossible – Wim Hof breathing and cold therapy training could help him change his heart rate and circulation by taking control of the autonomic nervous system.
Cold Exposure
Cold is a stressor. Harness it to ignite your Inner Fire!
Unlock the power of the cold with the second pillar of the Wim Hof Method.
Cold temperatures used to be part of our everyday lives throughout most of our evolution, but have been almost completely lost to the comforts of modern society.
Deliberate cold exposure, DCE, is the practice of cold water immersion, CWI. This can be done in nature or by taking an ice bath.
COLD EXPOSURE THE WIM HOF METHOD WAY
The Wim Hof Method cold exposure is an extreme form of cold therapy that involves exposing oneself to freezing temperatures either out in natural cold bodies of water or by using ice baths. At our Wim Hof Method Workshops, we take cold exposure to the next level by making our ice baths as cold as possible.
Our two single-person ice baths are filled with 400kg of ice, and we have a beautiful teak wood ice bath for two people in that we put 800kg or more of ice. These ice baths are not your average spa cold plunge; they are set at a bone-chilling zero degrees Celsius.
It takes a special mindset to endure such extreme cold exposure, which is why we teach the Wim Hof Method breathing techniques and mindset practices at our workshops. We use only food-grade ice cubes, and the ice baths are emptied, cleaned, and sanitized before every workshop to ensure hygiene and safety.
In addition to full-body cold exposure, we also offer cold extremity training, such as exposing only the hands or feet to the cold. Wim Hof famously says, “Cold is my teacher,” and this practice teaches us to relax in the face of stress.
Cold exposure triggers a stress response, and the growth comes from learning how to control our nervous system through controlled breathing and a strong focused mindset.
However, the WHM isn’t just about the cold. The Wim Hof Method is far more than the individual parts.
Sure ice baths, breathing and meditation are great on their own. But when combined the WHM way correctly, it takes everything to a whole new unique level.

SCIENCE & THE WIM HOF METHOD
Doctors and medical researchers are keen to examine Wim Hof and carry out experiments on the way he handles extreme temperatures because science views the human body as incapable of responding in the way he does to physical and mental challenges.
Universities have run projects to understand how Wim Hof influences systems in his body that were thought autonomous and beyond the reach of the mind. They still don’t know how he attains the results he does, but they do admit what they thought was impossible is no longer beyond belief.
Controlling the autonomic nervous system, which manages heart rate, blood circulation and the body’s flight or fight mechanisms, is at the root of the studies. Wim Hof and his students can command the system through meditation and breathing techniques – something they believed was impossible.
